Bright & Dynamic Drawings inspired by Rosa Roberts

In this Sunday workshop, we’ll take inspiration from the bold, joyful work of Rosa Roberts, known for her vibrant use of colour, tropical motifs, and energetic compositions. Her paintings often feature lush green plants, palm trees, and bright fruits such as papayas, set against colourful, sun-drenched backgrounds.
We’ll explore how she captures the warmth and rhythm of her surroundings through expressive mark- making, playful layering, and travel-inspired imagery. Students will use still life arrangements of fruit, leaves, and flowers as a starting point for observational sketching, before developing their drawings into vibrant, mixed-media artworks. Using oil pastels, acrylic paint, and coloured pencils, we’ll focus on creating bright, dynamic compositions that celebrate colour, movement, and the joy of making.
