Beginners’ Acrylics, Pastels, Graphite andWatercolours: Monday evenings Spring Term

An exploration of these various mediums which are often used alone or in combination with each other to create distinctive and delicate textures and colourful studies.

Over the term you will build confidence in these skills, building up from drawing to colour and experimenting with all these materials.

Each stage of the course takes inspiration from established artists - some world-famous, some to discover!

Week 1 & 2 Plants and Flowers: Freud. Graphite, Watercolours or Inks.

Week 3 & 4 Still Life: Carlos Morago. Graphite and acrylics

Weeks 5 & 6 Still Life: Nathalie du Pasquier.  Acrylics

Week 7 Still Life: Euan Uglow. Acrylics

Week 8 Still Life: Sarah Spackman. Acrylics

Week 9 & 10 Interiors & exteriors: Pierre Bonnard. Acrylics and pastels.

Week 11 & 12 California landscapes: Richard Diebenkorn. Acrylics

All necessary materials will be provided for your first session.

Materials provided throughout the course: Pencils- Hs to Bs; rubbers; basic paint, palettes and water holders.
